Frequently Asked Questions

What is a video class?

What is a video class? How is it going to work?

At-home learners will be able to watch presenters at home and have access to interactive tools such as a Q&A and chat to ask questions. Please note that only those attending the live stream will have access to interactive tools.

Using one remote class for a group

I’ll sign up for one remote class and fill a conference room! I’m so smart!

No, you're not. Putting on these events isn’t easy and comes with costs. Presenters worked hard to build a course and spent a small fortune gaining the knowledge they are now trying to share. Support your educators by compensating them fairly for their time and expertise. Support us to be able to host more courses like this for you. Be honest, pay for your education or resources like these will disappear.

Non-rope kink classes

I don’t do rope. Is there going to be other kink classes?

Yes! We hope to host a variety of classes. If you have something you’d like to see or an educator whose classes you’ve wanted to take, contact us info@frictionlabs.org

For those who want to present

How can I run a class with Friction Labs Live?

If you are an educator and you want to work with us to host one of your classes, contact info@frictionlabs.org

Missed broadcast

I paid, but now I can't come or I missed the broadcast. Can I get a refund?

If you cancel at least 7 days before the event, we will issue a refund. If you just don't show, then there isn't a refund. You will be sent a link to be able to view a recording of the class for two weeks after the live broadcast.

Organizers?

Who is organizing these classes?

Friction Live is organized by woodentiger69 and Miranda-, with a team of kinky, techy people helping make it work.

Names displayed

Is my name/email/fetname/video going to displayed?

Privacy is just as important to us as it is to you. We will see names for waivers and payments, but it won't be displayed or shared in any way. At-home viewers will have their chosen "nickname" displayed.

Choosing classes

How does Friction Live pick classes?

In-person classes are always going to be the best option for things that require a lot of hands-on from the instructor or nuanced skills. New rope harnesses or whip skills are harder to teach remotely, so we try to focus on classes that require interaction, but not strictly hands-on. Demo based classes are high on the list, as the skills taught are demonstrated for viewers. Classes with good informational content that people can apply with no guidance also make the list.

Recorded video

Is there a video recording of the session?

A recording of the presenter's video will be made available to anyone who signs up and pays for the session before the live broadcast. The recording is available up to 15 days after the day of session.
